INSTRUCTIONS, driving Ducklings, and initial care:
(* make shure you have a carpboard box, or some carry equipment in which Ducklings
can bread properly, and do NOT drive them into the car trunks, but: back seat, or back
seat floor, is also ok, and feed them that day, after you have left them alone first, for 1
hour after you arrive home, so they can de-stress from the trip, first. MORE NEWS:
(*sometimes, there is a number of day old chookies available, as well - they are very
cute, and from $10 each, so check often our Ringwood sales garden!).

DUCK EMERGENCIES - OTHER QUESTIONS:

FEEDING DUCKLINGS:
Ages Day old to approx. 6 weeks: feed chick or duckling crumble, or layers mesh.
Ages 6 to 10 weeks: feed grower crumble.
Ages 10 weeks and older: feed layer pellets.
All feeds are fed ad lib and dry. (duckies eat: approx 150g per day, is good enough).
Moistening the food may cause it to sour or go moldy. Provide adequate fresh water at
all times (could be in simple child swimming pool, or anything smaller, they can climb
into easily, and swim, remember: they are waterfowl, and duckies LOVE to swim, and
drink from the same water, at the same time !)
Make shure they can easily climb to improvised pools, put some stone, or wood trail,
don't make the access to be "too high to reach" for them, as they may hurt themselves !

Ducklings, CAN have a FLUE
We will cover only Flu here, and what to do: If you see liquids going from their noses,
you'll need to crumble (using botle) small piece of your anti-flu medication, and put
it dissolved in the water they drink, and do this for at least 1 week, otherwise: see your
local vet ASAP, they are waterfowl, but not indestructible ! This also means: they need
some carpboard under, while they sleep, so do that, untill they are better, otherwise you
don't need a carpboard of any kind.

RELEASING DUCKS (ducklings) INTO WILD NATURE
It's ok, provided that water is healthy, and there are other bird species,
so the life can go normally. In the literature, you will find that this is "not
possible" or "not legal" - which is NOT so, just ignore that, and make shure you
check them up, in the next day or two, if you still need to return them back home again,
for later another release attempt again, after which: they WILL be just great, and
the best time will be any month after the winter ends, and the MORNINGS are a lot
better, than afternoons, so they can better de-stress, from the new change.
(*we had some very good results in the past, releasing domestic ducks into reserves, as
our international program proved: the official books are full of nonsenses: ducks all get
along just fine, and all animals help each other in trouble - unlikelly humans).
Finally: domestic ducks are fully capable adopting to life in the wild, since: before first
time being domesticated by humans ( which happened In China), they all have been
WILD animals, and that's what they basically still are.
More tamed: will be more closer to you, less tamed, will keep more distance: no rocket
science here ! Do NOT be affraid to experiment, you are doing nothing wrong, by: giving
life into the nature, and should defend your right to do so, as well.

Finally: they will hopefully, however: stay with you, at your home, and care !
